Oh Christmas tree

The season is officially upon us - well in our house anyway! Yesterday my usually humbug husband went searching under the house for the outdoor lights which lead to stringing them up, which then lead to setting up the tree and a mini Christmas concert with carols to boot, right in our living room! (after reshuffling the furniture to make way for it in our tiny house).

The tree is still kind of bare at the moment as we're waiting on a stash of vintage baubles to arrive that were purchased on eBay. That didn't stop us though.

Here is Callum looking very chuffed with himself - he was the 'tree coordinator'. When you're 7, titles like this make you feel very grown up!

The heart singing moment was late in the night just after we had tucked the kids into bed. As I reached to turn the music off Shaun took my hand and invited me to dance (in jest). Mia climbed out of bed and came into the living room (to dob on her brother!) when she spotted us dancing. She quickly ran back into the bedroom and whispered "mum and dad are dancing!". So what were they to do? Join us of course! Callum took Mia's hand and together they danced, mimicking us, while Lola held out her arms and twirled. We all went to sleep with happy hearts last night.
